Awards and Recognition Committee

PURPOSE

Purpose: The Awards and Recognition Committee advances the mission of the Ohio Recreational Sports Association by celebrating excellence, service, and impact across the membership. The committee is responsible for developing and stewarding a comprehensive awards program that recognizes individuals and institutions whose contributions strengthen the association and elevate the recreational sports profession. Through this work, the committee reinforces a culture of appreciation, connection, and continued engagement within ORSA.

FUNCTION

  • Supports the recognition of individuals, programs, and partners who demonstrate excellence, service, and sustained contributions.

  • Manages the full awards process, including nomination development, submission guidelines, and timeline coordination.

  • Reviews and evaluates nominations to ensure a consistent and transparent selection process.

  • Collaborates with other committees to promote award opportunities and increase member engagement.

  • Coordinates recognition efforts at ORSA events and through association communications.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  • 1 committee chair (minimum 2 year commitment and previous Honor Award Member)

  • 4-5 committee members (previous Honor Award Member)

  • This committee was formed in 1990.
